Hi! My name is Moritz and I am currently applying for PhD programmes in Europe. During my undergraduate studies in Mannheim, I have had the opportunity to spend a semester each at Harvard and NTU Singapore. Afterwards, I started my Master’s in Statistics at ETH Zurich. There, I have been particularly interested in theoretical statistics and the statistical foundations of machine learning.

I pursued my Master’s thesis at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen. Advised by Bernhard Schölkopf, Siyuan Guo, and Jonas Peters, I researched in-context counterfactual reasoning in Transformers. Our work has been published at NeurIPS 2025.

You can find my current curriculum vitae here.
